Juanita “Niya” Morton currently works at The Orchard / Sony Music as the Director of Artist & Label Services, spearheading global marketing campaigns for emerging and established independent artists. Post graduation from Marble Hill High School for International Studies with the class of 2007 and SUNY Albany class of 2011, acquiring a Bachelor of Arts in Journalism, she has maintained her curiosity and penchant for pop culture and music. Morton has worked across a diverse range of verticals within the entertainment industry from public relations, talent management, brand partnerships, A&R and more. Her introduction to the possibility of a career in music was sparked with her attendance to an industry panel during her year stint at Temple University in Philadelphia - she hasn’t looked back since.
Throughout her tenure, Morton has been named as one of Billboard Magazine’s Managers to Watch for her work with pgLang and Grammy-Award winning artist Baby Keem. She has also worked as an A&R coordinator on Kendrick Lamar’s Mr. Morale & The Big Steppers album, spearheaded and collaborated across international marketing for artists like Monaleo, Anuel AA, and Nippa to name a few. In addition to artist management, she’s also managed producers and DJs, utilizing her diverse network to expand business opportunities, visibility and growth for her roster of talent. Her passion to empower and educate artists and the next generation of executives drives her and she attributes much of her success to the opportunities provided through Marble Hill High School for International Studies.
